Certificate of satisfactory executionDescription du projet - Projet d’appui au développement d’anacardes dans le bassin de la Comoé
Burkina Faso is receiving support of 30 MUSD from the Forest Investment Program (FIP) to implement its REDD+ strategy. As part of a call for proposals launched by the IFP in August 2013, the NGO Wouol submitted, with the support of the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Project to Support the Development of Cashew Nuts in the Comoé Basin for REDD+ (PADA/REDD+). The project was selected with a budget of 4 MUS.
The purpose of this mission was to assess the technical-economic, social and environmental feasibility of the actions planned by the PADA/REDD+ project, taking into account the priorities expressed by the Burkinabe authorities.
Based on interviews (private actors, administration and research), visits to cashew plots, bibliographic research (concerning Burkina Faso but also other cashew producing countries), the following services were provided:
- Validation of the technical design and costs of component 1: Support for cashew nut plantations, and estimation of the carbon sequestration potential of these plantations;
- Contribution to the economic and financial analysis of the project;
- Identification of risks and mitigation measures;
- Definition of quantifiable performance indicators;
- Contribution to the drafting of the project document and aide-memoire.
