Context of the service

The project "Integration of climate change adaptation in the agriculture and water sectors in West Africa" funded by FFEM and implemented by CILSS, aims to reduce the vulnerability of West African countries and populations and increase their capacity to adapt to climate change. The project includes the following components:
1. Creation of an internet portal for the exchange of information on the adaptation of agriculture to climate change;
2. Evaluation and revision of agriculture and water policies in the CILLS/ECOWAS region;
3. Dissemination of innovative agricultural adaptation initiatives in pilot countries;
4. Sensitization of decision-makers on the challenges of agricultural adaptation.
This service is included in this last component.

Services provided

10 sheets of 4 pages in English and French easy were produced on the intersecting issues relating to climate change (impats, adaptation, mitigation), desertification, food insecurity, erosion of biodiversity.
The fact sheets have been produced with particular attention to:
- Simplicity: the cards present the information in an immediately identifiable and understandable way, without non-essential information;
- Accessibility: the cards are "all-public" with several levels of reading (very accessible summary and assimilable details without prior knowledge);
- Completeness: the cards allow readers to learn beyond their content thanks to a recommended bibliography.
- Attractiveness: the cards have been designed, in substance and form, to arouse interest, in particular by integrating examples and illustrations;
